RBFCU Announces Two Key Promotions

Erick Martinez is named Senior Vice President-Chief Compliance Officer and Hector Hurtado is named Vice President of Operations Compliance

LIVE OAK, Texas (May 20, 2024) — Randolph-Brooks Federal Credit Union (RBFCU) is pleased to announce the promotion of Erick Martinez to Senior Vice President-Chief Compliance Officer, and Hector Hurtado to Vice President of Operations Compliance.

These promotions reflect Martinez’s and Hurtado’s dedication and exceptional leadership as the credit union further strengthens its commitment to exceeding regulatory and compliance standards.

Born in Mexico, Martinez immigrated to the U.S. from Ciudad Juarez with his family at 8 years old. After obtaining his degree in finance from the University of Texas at El Paso (UTEP), Martinez started his career as a National Bank Examiner at the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency in 2010. He later served as a director in consumer lending at USAA from 2016 to 2018.

Martinez joined RBFCU in September 2019 as Assistant Vice President-Lending Compliance, and within a year was promoted to Vice President of Lending Compliance. In 2022, he was promoted to Vice President-Risk Management & Chief Compliance Officer. He also serves as chair of RBFCU’s Compliance and Legal Committee.

Hector Hurtado, Vice President of Operations ComplianceHurtado joined RBFCU’s Consumer Lending Department in 2016. He advanced to management roles in 2018, and successfully made the transition from management into compliance when he was promoted to Consumer Lending Compliance Director in 2021. Hurtado later advanced to Assistant Vice President-Consumer Lending Compliance, and most recently served as AVP-Business Compliance.

“In his seven years with RBFCU, Hector has been instrumental in helping to develop our strong compliance program, and we’re excited for him to lead RBFCU’s efforts on the operations side,” Senior Vice President-Enterprise Fraud Brian Munsterteiger said.

Hurtado received his degree in marketing from University of Phoenix in 2014. Prior to arriving at the credit union, he served as a Financial Center Manager for Bank of America’s location in Schertz, Texas.
