Cheryl Walston Promoted to Vice President-Controller at RBFCU
LIVE OAK, Texas (March 24, 2022) — Cheryl "Cheri" Walston has been named Vice President-Controller at Randolph-Brooks Federal Credit Union, a promotion that follows more than five years of leadership positions in Finance at the credit union. She marked her 10th anniversary at RBFCU within the last year.
“Cheri has been instrumental in developing and enhancing our accounting practices and financial reporting for close to 11 years,” RBFCU Senior Vice President of Finance Zachary Crews said. “She has extensive knowledge of our institution, and her wealth of knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) will be something I continue to lean on in the future.”
Walston, a Certified Public Accountant, holds a bachelor's in accounting from Texas Lutheran University. She joined RBFCU in 2011 as a Financial Analyst. She's been a key contributor to the Finance Department as RBFCU has doubled in membership size during the past seven years.
“She is always willing and able to sit down with anyone to help them understand how a business decision may impact our financials,” Crews said.
Walston currently oversees financial reporting, accounts payable, general ledger, other bookkeeping tasks and more.
